dza were approached by the proprietors of this new dry cleaning establishment to assist with the preparation of a new building regulations application for the change of the existing retail premises to the proposed, and now current use. dza worked closely with the clients, building control and fire brigade to formulate the correct fire strategy and associated works required to bring the whole building into use for the business. This involved the creation of a new access staircase to the upper floors, the creation of additional internal floor space and the use of the basement for cleaning machines.
